Welcome to Waukee Troop 178's Official Website!

Our Troop of 39 active Scouts is located in Waukee, Iowa. Our charter sponsor is Waukee United Methodist Church where we meet most every Sunday evening from 6:30-8:00pm.

We are in the Mid Iowa Council but also participate in Mic-O-Say through the Pony Express Council and attend summer camp at Camp Geiger in St. Joseph, Missouri.

We have participated in many high adventure trips including:

2005 - Bicycling the limestone Michelson Trail through Mt. Rushmore

2006 - Canoeing the Canadian Boundary Waters

2007 - Backpacking the Double H High Adventure Ranch in New Mexico

2008 - Canoeing the Buffalo River in Arkansas

2009 - Caving the Forestville Mystery Cave, kayaking the Upper Iowa River, exploring the cliffs of Wyalusing State Park and Backbone State Park.

This summer the high adventure crew will travel to Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado where they will participate in backpacking, white water rafting, mountain biking or rock climbing.
