Scouting is adventure, family, fun, character, leadership and so much more.
In Scouting, boys and girls start with their best right now selves and grow into their very best future selves. It’s fun, hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.
Mid-Iowa Council is headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, in the Fred Maytag II Scout Center. In 2016 we celebrated 100 years of Boy Scouting in central and southern Iowa. Our mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.
Troop 178 is based in Waukee, IA and provides opportunities for youth to develop lifelong skills and prepare them for success as they grow. They learn all about Scouting, adhere to the Scout Oath and Scout Law, and focus on being a good family member, school student, and citizen of their community and nation.
